This is a 20th century drum from Mongolia. It is beautifully made, tightly bound by sets of three metal bosses and sounds great. The painting is wonderfully done, dominated by reds and green and displays chrysanthemums (a Chinese emblem of mid-autumn and long-life)and cloud forms.
