Carved from a single piece of wood, Guanyin sits on a lotus throne placed on top of a double tiered throne that is decorated with four small columns topped by lotus buds. Guanyin is seated in meditation (padmasana) position with the hands in the lap in dhyana mudra and with the soles of both feet exposed. She wears a five-lobed crown with cross hatch decoration in the lobes. Her hair is toped in a double bun, and there is red and white pigmentation on the chest and robes.
