This pair of turn of the century leather boots has been covered with a firm lacquer overlay to add the strength to them to enable them to stand independently. They are wonderfully decorative and can stand alone as they are or can be used as a container for dried flowers. Although the bottoms contain soft spikes, they are soft enough to not damage the surface on which they are placed.

This pair has been painted with designs of tiger skin. The tiger is considered the lord of all land animals. Tigers assume a significant role in the traditions of feng shui since they are considered to be a source of terror to demons. Images of tigers are painted on walls of houses and temples as guardians, and the heads of tigers are embroidered on the shoes of small children as protection.
