This meditating Guanyin sits in padmasana, her feet covered by her tunic. Her delicate hands rest in her lap in dhyana mudra, the gesture of meditation. Her fingers are placed in triratna with the thumbs touching to symbolize the three gems of Buddhism: the Buddha, the Sangha and the Dharma. Her round face, with partially closed lotus shaped eyes and small bud shaped painted lips, is set in a demeanor of serenity and compassion Her face is framed with hair pulled up behind an elegantly arched and deeply carved crown centered by an image of the Buddha Amitabha seated in meditation and set off with an aureole. Three part plaited braids flow over her shoulders. She is garbed in a three part robe with a faded cobalt blue shawl with red border and sleeves, and faded green tunic and green undergarment. A red ribbon is tied at the waist under a three tied strand of beads which covers her chest. .

There is no pedestal supporting the image although a deeply carved faded green ritual cloth surrounded by her cascading blue and red sleeves elegantly cushions her.
