This miniature chest was used by a woman of means to store her personal items. It is decorated on the front with two side compartments with panels inset with a pair of intricately carved birds representing fidelity over a life time. These panels frame three drawers with carved floral decorations. On the top and on the apron below are decoratively craved panels which also contain carved floral designs. A pair of attendants flanks the upper front corners. A pair of geometric horizontal elements flanks the back corners.
